Here's a few more

Honeymoon Pictures

I know some of you haven't been able to see some of our honeymoon pictures so I decided to add a few. We went to the Dominican and also got to see Niagra Falls before we left. We had some time after finding a place to live in Toronto so we decided to go to the falls on a whim since we realized how close we were to them. We went on the Maid of the Mist which was pretty cool. Really loud and wet. The Dominican was relaxing and one of the most beautiful places we've ever been to.

8 Year Anniversary

Well, November 18th was our 8 year anniversary together. Although we've only been married for 5 months, the 18th was the date that I took Darcie out for lunch at the Han Mongolian BBQ restaurant. It was the first thing we ever did together. We can't believe its been 8 years now. We decided to relax and go to a used book store and see if we could find anything interesting to read. It was near downtown. It was fun going to an obscure used book store and searching for a good book. Darcie managed to find a couple of good ones. Near the bookstore, there was a really big discount store called Honest Ed's World Famous Shopping Center so we decided to check it out too. It was in a big, old building and took up an entire block. You could tell it hadn't changed much since they opened. It's got flashing red and yellow lights outdoors and indoors with signs that say "don't just stand there, buy something!" The store has a deal on everything like housewares, carpets, clothing, food, etc. It felt like we'd stepped back in time for a bit. We bought a salad spinner.
Then we went out for dinner. We went to the Outback Steakhouse. We decided we wanted to eat there for dinner many weeks beforehand so we'd been looking forward to it for so long. We hadn't been there since we went to one with Bruce in Puerto Vallarta and we both remember the food being soooo good. I got a bbq'd chicken breast with mashed potatoes and vegetables and their bbq sauce was just like I remembered. It was really good. Darcie got a platter diner so she got ribs and bbq'd chicken. We were both full and satisfied when we were finished. Sorry we didn't get any pictures to post. We forgot to take the camera with us.

Miss everyone!

Darcie and I can't wait to come home for Christmas. We miss you all. See you soon.

Official Ontario drivers now

I finally managed to get car insurance again so I don't have to ride the bus everywhere. It's been a month and a half without a car but it felt like 3 months. It felt so good to be able to drive a car again and not have to worry about waiting for the next bus, stopping to pick up people, etc. It felt like I was able to get around so fast to do the things I needed to do again. I even noticed I was driving slower than normal because even at the slower speed, I was still getting around faster than if I was on a bus. I was just taking my time, enjoying the freedom. Once you stop driving a car for a while, you really notice how much you depend on it so I'm not taking it for granted so much right now.
I went in to a vehicle lincensing office on Saturday to have my plates changed from BC to Ontario's. Its weird seeing the car with Ontario plates. It's pretty ironic that it starts with the letters BC though. Its cool how that worked out like that. There's a picture of the car with my old BC license plates and a picture with the new Ontario plates. The other picture is a good view of the side of the duplex we live in.
Now the next thing I have to do with the car is get snow tires on them because there were light snow flurries last week. Weird to see snow falling again.

I actually started a blog

Well, I did it. I started a blog for Darcie and I because we enjoy looking at Sarah and Laura's blogs all the time and seeing pictures we otherwise wouldn't have been able to see and catching up on things going on in their lives, so hope you enjoy. I started by adding a few more pictures of the outside of our basement suite and our neighborhood so you know what Darcie and I look at every day. We emailed everyone what the inside of our basement suite looked like but forgot to show what the outside area looks like. The one picture of the side of the house is the entrance. In the summer, there are big leaves covering the entire wall. I should've taken a picture of it then. Right now all the leaves are gone since its Fall so it looks a lot different.

Since we've moved here, we've noticed there are a lot of black squirrels that live amongst us. So once in a while, I'll buy a bag of peanuts and leave them cracked open on the fence next to our gate to the back yard for them. I like watching them and it doesn't take long for them to notice they're there. I'll stand by our door and watch them sit there and stuff their faces. I wonder what they're thinking when they come across the nice stash of laid out crushed peanuts for their eating pleasure. Probably something like, "Hell's ya!" There's one squirrel that has gotten pretty fat because of us which is good because of the cold winter coming. You can tell he's much fatter than a lot of the other squirrels we see around the neighborhood because of the peanuts we feed him. You can see the fence area from our living room and we'll often see him sniffing around to see if there's any peanuts we left for him. I like feeding them because then I know it won't be so hard for them to survive through the winter here.
